We are proud supporters of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) Southern California chapter. Architecture holds a very special place in our hearts and directly affects our real estate business. A skilled architect or designer can blend both form and function together to create something truly amazing. We are always looking to expand our own education in this subject, and we encourage tomorrow’s architects to pursue their passions within this field of study.
The ICAA SoCal regularly hosts educational workshops, online webinars and continuing education courses. Here are some of the events coming up in May and June:
Wade Graham Lecture
May 18 • 7:00pm
Wade Graham is a successful author, historian and landscape designer based in Los Angeles. He will be giving a speech at Mulligan’s Showroom in Los Angeles on Thursday evening. This is a unique opportunity to hear Wade’s story and learn more about his artistic approach.
Coronado Island Historical Homes Tour
June 2-3
This is a special 2-day event hosted in collaboration with the Coronado Historical Association. If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about this beautiful island in the San Diego Bay, here is your chance to tour some historic homes. It begins with a cocktail reception on Friday evening at 6:30pm. It will be held at a 1936 home designed by Cliff May. Then, the home tour will commence on Saturday at 11:00am. You will visit five historic homes and a church on Coronado Island before finishing up at historic Hotel del Coronado.
Foster Reeve Workshop/Tour
June 9 • 12:00pm
The acclaimed west coast plaster workshop of Foster Reeve & Associates is opening up its doors for this special workshop and tour. This firm was founded 30 years ago and the Los Angeles shop opened in 2006. This is a wonderful opportunity to see how traditional plaster techniques are applied to present-day buildings for both aesthetic and functional purposes.
David Wiseman Studio Tour

David Wiseman is a celebrated modern artist who creates work inspired by the natural world. He draws from global sources and classical craft techniques, while incorporating modern touches. Wiseman is known for his furniture, sculptures and site-specific installations. This is a rare opportunity to tour his workshop and hear from David himself about his artistic approach.
ICAA Members-Only Summer Party
June 21 • 7:00pm
More details will be posted about this event that is reserved only for ICAA SoCal members. Most other workshops, tours and webinars are available to members at a discounted price, and to non-members for an additional registration fee.
