June is Pride Month, which is a true celebration of diversity in the America. It’s an opportunity for those of us in the LGBTQ+ community to stand up and show our pride—even though that is something we are more than happy to do all year long. What was once just a single Gay Pride Day in June has become an entire month of pride, and it is celebrated with exciting events throughout the Los Angeles area.

Here are some of the wonderful events and activities happening in LA during LGBTQ+ Pride Month 2023:

WeHo Pride
West Hollywood • June 2-4

West Hollywood has been home to one of the largest annual Pride celebrations in the world. Hundreds of thousands of people flock to WeHo each June to take part in a variety of events. The celebration culminates in the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 4 at 12:00. Learn more.

SaMo PRIDE Festival
Santa Monica • June 3

Santa Monica’s entire downtown district—from Third Street Promenade to the Santa Monica Pier—into a pride celebration zone for everyone to enjoy. There will be music, entertainment, vendors, free swag and great food. It is the official kickoff to a month-long series of events in Santa Monica for Pride Month. Learn more.

The Getty Museum • June 7

One event we are really looking forward to is Queering the Lens. This is an evening of conversation and celebration of LGBTQ+ culture, featuring three LA-based photographers: Rick Castro, Amina Cruz and Texas Isaiah. This should be a powerful cultural experience. Learn more.

Pride is Universal
Universal Studios • June 8

The annual after-hours theme park experience returns to Universal Studios this year. Park hours are extended to 1:00 am for guests of all ages. There will be live DJs, musical guests, drag performers and other surprises. The new Super Nintendo World will also be open for this event! Learn more.

LA Pride in the Park
LA State Historic Park • June 9-10

This will be a can’t-miss concert event with two nights in the LA Historic Park. Megan thee Stallion will headline on Friday and Mariah Carey will headline on Saturday. There will be many more musical guests each night. Learn more.

53rd Annual LA Pride Parade
Los Angeles • June 11

The LA Pride Parade returned with vengeance in 2022 after a couple years away during the pandemic. More than 145,000 people came out last year to enjoy the procession along Hollywood Boulevard. The parade is free to attend and will feature special performances and celebrity Grand Marshall, comedian Margaret Cho. There will be a special Legacy Grand Marshall tribute to Leslie Jordan, who we lost last year. Learn more.
