It’s so great to see the social scene throughout the San Gabriel Valley coming back to life this summer. More people are getting vaccinated, restrictions are lifted and things are starting to feel more like normal again. There are a lot of fun local summer events and activities I am really looking forward to.

Rose Bowl

The Rose Bowl is always a hub of activity in the heart of Pasadena. It’s an iconic venue that showcases the rich history and culture of our city. We just had the annual Rose Bowl 5K and AmericaFest at the stadium this past weekend. And of course, the 4th of July celebration was a blast (literally)! Here are some upcoming Rose Bowl events you might be interested in:

Rose Bowl Flea Market • Monthly

The monthly Rose Bowl Flea Market is back! Upcoming Sunday dates include July 11, August 8 and September 12. It’s always fun to see what the local vendors have in store. Learn more.

UCLA Football • Beginning August 28

Pasadena Playhouse

Though no live shows are currently scheduled for the summer, new programs are in development and you can also check out their Playhouse Live virtual theater streaming option. I wanted to bring up the Pasadena Playhouse because this is a member-supported theater, and they are always looking for support. Contributing now is more important than ever after such a tough year for the local performing arts scene. Learn more.

School of Rock

If your children are into playing instruments or singing, you should check out the School of Rock’s local summer programs for kids aged 7-18. In July, they have a 5-day summer camp teaching the iconic songs of the Rolling Stones. In August, the camp is all about Green Day. Learn more. Speaking of Green Day, they have a concert scheduled at Dodger Stadium on September 4!

Outdoor Activities

Of course, summer is always a great time to explore nature and all the outdoor activities found throughout Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley. Hiking, biking, golf, disc golf—you name it! There is so much to see and do in our beautiful foothill setting.

Local Dining and Night Life

Now that COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, bars, clubs and restaurants are back open for business. Show your favorite local hotspots your support.

It’s time to start getting back out there and having a little fun again, while still being as smart and safe as possible. This is going to be a great summer in Pasadena!
