The Pasadena Symphony and POPS still has a few incredible concerts left under the stars at the LA County Arboretum as part of the Rusnak Summer POPS Series [view the full calendar here]. In addition, we are already looking forward to the 2023-24 Symphony Series. It will feature six special performances at the Ambassador Auditorium.

We are proud supporters of the Pasadena Symphony and POPS. Greg is very passionate about music and arts, while Tim is a noted concert pianist who has performed with many members of the symphony. It’s always exciting when a new concert calendar is released for each season. Here are the performances scheduled for the 2023-24 Symphony Series:

Tchaikovsky 4 • October 21. 2023

Brett Mitchell will be the conductor for this powerful showcase of pieces by contemporary composer, Mason Bates, and classical composers, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky—including the latter’s legendary Symphony No. 4. Diana Adamyan is the featured soloist on violin. Learn more.

Rhapsody On A Theme Of Paganini • November 18, 2023

Ward Stare will conduct the symphony and Natasha Paremski will be the featured pianist. This performance includes compositions by Rachmaninoff and Elgar, along with the Composer Showcase of Earthrise by Patrick Harlin. Learn more.

Beethoven Emperor • January 27, 2024

Kensho Watanabe takes the conductor’s podium as the symphony performs Piano Concerto No. 5 “Emperor” by Beethoven with featured pianist, George Li. This concert will also include Dances of Galånta by Kodåly and Jessica Hunt’s Climb as the Composers Showcase. Learn more.

Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 • February 17, 2024

You won’t want to miss this gripping performance of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, along with Symphony No. 2 by Sibelius. Jessie Montgomery will be the featured composer, with Kyle Dickson conducting and Wynona Wang on piano. Learn more.

Beethoven Violin Concerto • March 23, 2024

Violinist Francisco Fullana takes the stage as the featured soloist and François López-Ferrer is the conductor for Beethoven’s classic Violin Concerto. The Firebird Suite by Stranvinsky and Kutimbua Kivumbi (Stomp the Dust!) will showcase the work of acclaimed modern composer, Shawn Okpebholo. Learn more.

Vivaldi Four Seasons • April 20, 2024

The final concert of the season will include four featured pieces, highlighted by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Si-ang Chen will be the showcased composer, Linhan Cui is the conductor, and Charlotte Marckx is the soloist on violin. This performance will also include Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 by Bach and Crisantemi by Puccini. Learn more.
