As vaccinations become more readily available and COVID-19 numbers start to subside in Los Angeles County, we are seeing things slowly start to open up more and more with each passing week. We’re still far from out of the woods with this pandemic, but the signs seem encouraging and we’re starting to return to life that’s at least a little more normal.
Orange Tier Reopenings and Restrictions
Los Angeles County currently sits at the orange alert tier, which is “moderate” according to California’s state guidelines. This is true for all Southern California counties to the east and south (Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Imperial), as well as Ventura County to the northwest. Kern, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties remain in the the red “substantial” tier. Considering where we were in LA just a couple months ago, this seems to be great news for our region.
We’re seeing concerts and sporting events (with fans in the stands) back on the schedule. Restaurants are opening up indoor dining. Crowd numbers will continue to be limited for awhile, but it sure is nice to see these public events and activities happening again.

Real Estate Impact
Our real estate team is still following best practice protocols by limiting showings and utilizing digital communications technology when possible to minimize physical contact. We understand that nothing will ever compare with being able to see the properties in person before you decide to make an offer. The Durkovic Group works with higher-end clientele, so our showings have always been by appointment only. Covid regulations haven’t really hindered us too much, though we take all the necessary steps to ensure that our clients (whether the buyers or the property owners who are selling) are kept safe at all times.
Spring Market Update
Spring is upon us and we’ve already had quite a few very warm days. This is almost always our busiest time of year in the local real estate market. 2021 has been no exception as we’ve seen home selling activity pick up with each passing month. We won’t be surprised if this is one of our best spring and summer markets ever. Seller inventory is still low and buyer demand is high with mortgage rates still relatively low. This has created a strong seller’s market as home prices continue to soar.
Things always move a little more slowly in the luxury market we primarily serve. However, our business we extremely active in March and April is already off to a booming start!
It’s safe to say that spring has sprung in Southern California and so has the LA County real estate market. If you are thinking about buying or selling soon, it’s time to start getting your plan together in order to make the absolute most of your move. Contact The Durkovic Group today for a personal real estate consultation. Let us help you making the right home buying and/or selling decisions in this unique seller’s market.
