San Marino is a residential city in Los Angeles County with a population of just over 13,000. It offers beautiful residential neighborhoods with tree-lined streets and impressive estate homes. The name San Marino comes from the ancient republic by the same name. It was founded in 301 AD by Saint Marinus of Rab and is claimed to be the oldest constitutional republic in the world, with it constitution dating back to 1600.

San Marino is one of the county’s most exclusive communities with high-end homes and a relatively small, tight-knit population. Over 50 percent of San Marino’s residents are of Asian descent, making it one of the the highest Asian populations in LA County. Local Landmarks

One of San Marino’s most prominent landmarks is The Huntington Library, which features an extensive library or rare books and historical documents, world-famous art museum and stunning botanical gardens. These grounds were originally made accessible by Henry Huntington in 1919. Today, they offer many exhibits, events and activities throughout the year, as well as wonderful educational programs for knowledge-seekers of all ages. It’s a great place to spend the day and see everything that’s on display.

The University of Southern California (USC) also owns a historic mansion in San Marino, which is used as a residence for the university’s president. It is one of many grand mansions and historic estates found throughout this timeless community.
