Bradbury is a small city in the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles county. The city was founded by Lewis Leonard Bradbury, a gold-mining millionaire. The Bradbury name is known throughout Los Angeles, specifically because of the famous Bradbury Building in Downtown LA, commissioned by the family in 1893.
With a population of just over 1,000, the city has three distinct areas: Bradbury Estates which is a gated community consisting of 5 acre minimum estates; Woodlyn Lane, a gated community with 2 acre minimum lots, and the rest of the city which has lots ranging from 7,500 square feet to an acre. Known for its careful preservation of its serene rural setting, a large portion of the properties in Bradbury Estates and Woodlyn Lane are zoned for horses, and several ranches still exist today.
Bradbury has a unique reputation as one of the most exclusive and expensive neighborhoods in the country. In 2010, Forbes Magazine placed one of Bradbury’s zip codes, 91008, as the most expensive zip code in America. A few of Bradbury’s incredible estates have been featured on BRAVO TV’s Million Dollar Listing television series.
Bradbury is just minutes from the city of Monrovia, where shoppers like to stroll through the historic Old Town Monrovia. Old Town Monrovia is a quaint street that has been thoughtfully renovated with a variety of local shops and nationally recognized stores. The town features funky shops like Puff Monkey Pop Culture Shop, collectible shops like Comic Cellar, and pretty home decor shops like Charlie’s House. Old Town Monrovia also offers the popular Friday Night Family Street Fair, an annual 4th of July celebration, and a Holiday Parade.
Dedicated to the preservation of its serene rural setting, this small community offers a tranquil escape within Los Angeles County. Bradbury is comprised of conserved agricultural land, expansive equestrian properties, and picturesque residential communities. Bradbury is known for its magnificent gated estates sitting on multi-acre properties. The city is truly citizen-oriented, with a small full-time staff devoted to the well-being of the land and its residents. Families enjoy sprawling views of the San Gabriel Mountains, walks along the Royal Oaks Trail, and horseback riding lessons. Pleasantly harmonious and private, Bradbury provides an unparalleled living experience.
