Whether you are ready or not, the holiday season is upon us. Christmas is just around the corner and holiday decorations are up throughout Los Angeles. We wanted to take this time to share some fun and exciting holiday events, activities and art installations throughout the LA area for December 2023:

Enchanted: Forest of Light
Descanso Gardens • Through January 7

Descanso Gardens is always one of the first places we think of for the major holidays. Their Halloween event is something to behold, and so is their Christmas experience. You can stroll through the beautifully lit up garden grounds and interact with several incredible hands-on art installations. It’s a magical winter wonderland in the heart of La Cañada. Learn more.

Animals Aglow
LA Zoo • Through January 7

One of LA’s special new holiday traditions happens every year at the zoo. They keep the park open after dark most nights. Animal-themed holiday light installations are set up throughout the park, alongside the zoo’s usual animal residents. It is a truly unique way to experience this setting with the whole family. Holiday Sing-Along
Walt Disney Concert Hall • December 16

Melissa Peterman will be your host, along with John Sutton as conductor. A full choir will join with the Walt Disney Concert Hall’s giant pipe organ and jazz band. This concert is meant to be a sing-along, so come prepared to join in the fun and sing your favorite holiday classics with the whole crowd. There will also be photos with Santa, craft activities and hot cocoa served in BP Hall all day leading up the show that evening. Learn more.

Walt Disney Concert Hall • December 20-22

This modern classic Christmas movie comes to life as David Newman conducts the LA Philharmonic. They will be performing the original John Williams movie score along with a special viewing of the film for a wonderfully immersive concert experience. Learn more.

LA County Holiday Celebration
Dorothy Chandler Pavilion • December 24

This will be the 64th annual celebration of this classic holiday event. It will take place on Christmas Eve from 3:00-6:00pm and is free to attend. It will feature a diverse lineup of LA-based artists, and it always includes a wide variety of performances—from dance troupes to choral groups. It’s a great way to ring in the holiday right before Santa comes to town! Learn more.

Holiday Swing
Long Beach Arena • December 9

We are longtime supporters of the Long Beach Symphony, and Tim has had the pleasure of performing with some of their members in the past. They will be holding a special holiday concert, featuring Byron Stripling as conductor (and trumpeter) and Sidney McSweeney on vocals. The symphony will be performing classic holiday songs with fabulous custom arrangements. Learn more.
